Fire Door Safety Week

Fire Door Safety Week runs from Monday 25 September – Friday 29 September 2017. Sapphire Independent Housing are #FireDoorSafetyWeek Supporters.

Fire doors are a crucial part of the passive fire protection of every commercial, public and multiple occupancy building. They save lives and property.

At Sapphire Independent Housing, we work hard to ensure all our facilities and services are safe and secure. Annual fire safety inspections and regular health and safety inspections are carried out throughout the year, at all our sites, with fire safety being a top priority.

We are helping Fire Door Safety Week spread the word about the crucial importance of fire doors in saving lives and protecting property by raising awareness of some of the common fire door faults.

For example did you know that over 61% of fire doors have fire or smoke seals either missing or damaged and more than 34% of fire doors had excessive gaps between the door and its frame.

Find out more about Fire Safety Week and help us raise ongoing awareness of the importance of fire safety.
